Bicrossproduct Structure of Affine Quantum Groups

We show that the affine quantum group Uq(ŝl2) is isomorphic to a bicrossproduct central extension CZχ◮⊳Uq(Lsl2) of the quantum loop group Uq(Lsl2) by a quantum cocycle χ, which we construct. We prove the same result for Uq(ĝ) in R-matrix form.

AFFINE SUBGROUPS OF THE CLASSICAL GROUPS AND THEIR CHARACTER DEGREES

In this paper we describe how the degrees of the irreducible characters of the affine subgroups of the classical groups under consideration can be found inductively. In [4] Gow obtained certain character degrees for all of the affine subgroups of the classical groups. We apply the method of Fischer to the above groups and, in addition to the character degrees given in [4], we obtain some ne...

Dual Affine invariant points ∗

An affine invariant point on the class of convex bodies Kn in R, endowed with the Hausdorff metric, is a continuous map from Kn to R which is invariant under one-to-one affine transformations A on R, that is, p ` A(K) ́ = A ` p(K) ́ . We define here the new notion of dual affine point q of an affine invariant point p by the formula q(K) = p(K) for every K ∈ Kn, where K denotes the polar of K with...

Affine Distance-transitive Groups

A fruitful way of studying groups is by means of their actions on graphs. A very special and interesting class of groups are the ones acting distance-transitively on some graph. A group G acting on a connected graph F = (VT, ET) is said to act distance-transitively if its action on each of the sets {(x, y)\ x, y e VT, d(x, y) = i} is transitive. Here VT and ET stand for the vertices and edges o...

Affine Difference Algebraic Groups

The central objects of study in this thesis are affine difference algebraic groups. Similar to the case of affine algebraic groups, these groups can all be realized as subgroups of some general linear group defined by algebraic difference equations. However, the defining equations here are not simply polynomials in the matrix entries but difference polynomials, i.e., the defining equations invo...
